Welcome to Furness Cricket Club, a community-centered sports club with a rich history and a bright future!

Founded in 1892, we’ve been an integral part of the Barrow-in-Furness sporting landscape for over a century, and our commitment to promoting cricket and providing opportunities for all ages remains as strong as ever. We are proud to be based at the Cornerstone Ground on Oxford Street, where we continue to nurture talent, build camaraderie, and celebrate the love of the game.

Our Teams

At Furness Cricket Club, we offer something for every level of cricketer. We have five senior teams, including:

• The 1st XI and 2nd XI, which compete on weekends in various leagues.
• A B Team and Academy squads that play during the week, helping to develop the next generation of cricketers.
• A new Women’s Team, which has been an exciting addition to our club, offering more opportunities for female players to get involved in the sport.

Junior Cricket

We are passionate about growing the game and have a thriving junior section, with age groups for both boys and girls, ranging from 5 to 18 years old. Our young players develop their skills and teamwork in a supportive and encouraging environment, with the opportunity to progress to our senior teams as they develop.

Training and Facilities

We believe that training is key to success, and we run weekly training sessions on Tuesdays and Wednesdays during the summer months. Our facilities are second to none, offering the perfect setting to hone your skills.

In addition to our cricket facilities, we also have a bar and a function hall that is available for private hire. Whether you’re planning a celebration, wedding, or corporate event, our Function Hall is an ideal venue.
